Faster processor or more RAM?

Absolutely get the first one! It's not just about the processor speed, but also the cache. The faster RAM is a help, too...even though you are getting less. 4 GB is plenty for all but the worst case scenario. You can always upgrade the RAM and you should be able to do it easily for significantly less than $250...
