What is the name of this (presumably Finnish) hat and where could I attain one?

I honestly don't know. I lived in Finland about 6 yrs ago and never saw those hats. Perhaps, he bought it in Finland but it could be possible he bought it somewhere else in Europe during a tour. Maybe you should write him and ask :) "Kalle, missa sina maksit sun hattu?"
