What's a good dinner for two to cook for Christmas Eve?

This is the first Christmas for my husband and I to celebrate as newlyweds. We are spending Christmas Eve together alone and want to cook something yummy that can sit on the stove for awhile or something. We were going to do chili (we're texans haha), but my parents will be having chili on Christmas Day. Any ideas for something fun and warm to eat for two?
