How do you write a 2 week notice for a company who don't care about your school hours? (description inside)

I have a friend who works at CVS. They always give him a hard time when he asks for earlier hours or less hours because they do not want to give them to anyone else. Needless to say, the rest of the workers he works with are crap.This week is our college finals, and they expect him to work until 10 when he told them at the beginning of last week that he need to be out early to study.The manager who made the schedule gave him b/s, saying he cannot grant everyone's requests of early days or no work days. I think it's a crock of bull. They always make him do things they don't want to do like he's their slave or something. He was planning on taking summer cles, but is afraid that since they did this to him this semester, they will do it again next semester, when all the little highschool kids "can't work". Is there any action he can take for this situation, and how would he write his 2 week notice without making it sound bad or rude? Thank you so much in advanced!!
